Dori and Brenda in Maine!

Well, hello!  It's been about a gazillion days since last I posted, and this post has nothing to do with jewelry!  Read on for more excitement about my adventures with Brenda of Cockeyed Optimist Fame...

Sunday...We have arrived in Rockport, Maine  for our days of filming at the Maine Media Center, a film and photography college for continuing professionals.  After a 9-HOUR EXCURSION through dark, foggy, drizzly, stormy New England weather, Brenda and I arrived on campus just past midnight with just about one hair's width of a clue as to what to do.  By luck, we stumbled (literally) upon a lockbox outside one of the buildings containing envelopes with our names and room assignments and various other notes including and limited to:

1.  The internet password
2.  Van service schedule (where that van goes, we don't know, be we know it will take us somewhere at appointed times, not including Saturday afternoons and evenings)
3.  A map, which confused us at our late hour of arrival and only added to our confusion in the darkness (I did manage to find a soda machine and restroom whilst noodling about at midnight in search of our lodging)
4.  mealtimes - THANK GOODNESS - which are luckily served near our lodging.

MONDAY MORNING - We are, so far, enjoying our stay!  The room is dorm style and it all feels so camplike.  We shared our breakfast table with Colleen from Boston (who looks just like Ashley Judd, and yes, many people have told her), Michael from Orange County, CA, and River who just relocated from Prospect Heights, BK to Washington, DC.  Our breakfast-mates are all in the documentary film course curriculum, so thank goodness they were meeting with the actors...

Brenda managed to find Tim, who managed to tell us where to find Sara, who was hidden in the tech barn in an office with a blue door.  She was so glad to see us!  We were glad to see her, too. As travel was difficult for all last night, it seems some of the film directors were delayed in their arrival, and we volunteered to be on call for their arrival so we could find out what projects we would be working on...

In the meantime, we are going to jump in the car and explore a little of the environs.  Rumor has it that nearby Camden is really nice.  And there is a YMCA so Dori may be able to swim!!  (and Brenda may be able to do some form of exercise yet to be determined, if she can keep herself from napping).  We're now going climb our uphill room (the floor is slanted) and out the door so check back later for more musings.

Remain on the edge of your seat.  Photos to follow...
